Emerson & Cuming Microwave Products was acquired by the company Laird in the 2000s. 

Laird was founded in the UK in 1824 and had its roots in the shipbuilding industry. Nowadays, however, the company has a completely different focus, working to protect high-performance electronics from harmful heat and electromagnetic interference, as well as to improve their performance.
