Wacker Silicones is one of the world’s largest silicone manufacturers and has 23 production sites worldwide, including its own silicon mine in Holla, Norway. Wacker is one of only a handful of companies in the world capable of producing silicone from scratch, and even has its own hydropower plant. In parallel with this, the company produces many other chemicals, with the result that by-products from one chemical process are used as raw materials in another.
