Wacker Silicones is one of the world’s largest silicone manufacturers and has 23 production sites worldwide, including its own silicon mine in Holla, Norway. Wacker is one of only a handful of companies in the world capable of producing silicone from scratch, and even has its own hydropower plant. In parallel with this, the company produces many other chemicals, with the result that by-products from one chemical process are used as raw materials in another. This unique product and production strategy minimises the consumption of energy and resources.
Wacker Silicones is constantly working on the development of new materials for new applications in a range of areas, such as building and construction, food, medical applications, beauty care, automotive, energy systems, textiles and life sciences.
Our product range from Wacker focuses primarily on the needs of electronics manufacturers to protect applications in harsh environments, and the products are mainly used in electronics protection, aerospace silicones, bonding, gaskets and lubrication. World-renowned materials, such as SilGel® 612 silicone gel for electronics potting and Wacker® Paste P12 thermally conductive silicone paste, are among our most popular products. OEM Electronics and Wacker Kemi have collaborated over many years, sharing values such as high quality, ethical production and sustainability.
