A cable gland is a good way of achieving a reliable and tight cable entry with a good strain relief through a panel or chassis. We have enjoyed a long partnership with the manufacturer Ortac, and together we can offer a wide range of cable glands for several different types of installations.

The cable glands are made of halogen-free polyamide 6, nickel-plated brass or stainless steel. EMC-shielded cable glands are available for applications with sensitive equipment, and there are also variants with ATEX approval for critical environments. The cable glands have an enclosure rating of IP68 and many variants are available with UL approval.

Sealed enclosures are protected against moisture and dust from the outside, but cannot be protected from the formation of condensation inside the enclosure in the event of changes in air pressure and temperature. This problem can be resolved by venting the enclosure with a ventilated cable gland. A special membrane allows up to 70 l of air to pass through per hour, but does not let water or dust through. With Ortac’s ventilated cable glands, you get both a ventilation plug and a cable gland in one product.

We can also offer multi-hole gaskets for 2–7 cables, slotted gaskets, blind stops, bend protection and other accessories.
