Sealed connectors are specifically designed to withstand extreme conditions, such as high and low temperatures, strong vibrations, dirty and humid environments. Most connectors of this type are made of plastic, aluminium or brass, and are sealed to protect against moisture, water, dirt, dust and/or gases.
A sealed connector is suitable for use in applications that come into contact with water and dust, or that need to be washed or sterilised. Common uses include military and medical applications, as well as in the heavy vehicle industry.
