Capacitive keypads consist of “touch buttons” with no tactile feel. When the user presses the buttons, two electrodes meet and generate a change in the charge, which is transformed into a signal.
The keypad can be customised according to specific design and application requirements, as well as with higher IP ratings and temperature resistance.
The capacitive circuit layer is printed on PET material, while the surface layer, also known as the “overlay material”, is made of glass, PET, acrylic or PC (polycarbonate).
The long service life and good design options make capacitive keypads suitable for a wide range of applications, for example in white goods.
