Suppliers: Boyd
Together with our supplier, Boyd, we offer a wide range of heat exchangers. We can help with design and customisation to meet the heat transfer requirements stipulated by your application. Our extensive range of heat exchangers provide compact, highly efficient cooling that allows you to isolate enclosure electronics from the external environment in a reliable manner.
Heat exchangers with pipes and heat sinks deliver air-to-liquid or liquid-to-air cooling. They consist of fins and pipes, a tube sheet to support and align the pipes, a head with inlet and outlet, side plates for structural support and usually a fan plate. The pipes provide the path for liquid coolant and the fins add surface area for increased thermal convection. Pipes and fins are often made of copper due to its excellent thermal conductivity and compatibility with water and ethylene glycol solutions. Stainless steel is used for pipes and fins when it is necessary to use deionised water or other corrosive liquids as the coolant.
The heat performance of the heat exchanger can vary considerably, so it is important to understand what performance is needed as well as what liquids are available for the removal of heat when choosing a heat exchanger. It is also important to evaluate the entire system when choosing a heat exchanger, as there are a number of considerations to bear in mind, including flow rate, pressure drop, material compatibility, etc. Get in touch and we’ll be happy to help!
